Located in Aichi Prefecture, home to the Toyota company headquarters, the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology symbolizes the joint efforts of the 13 companies that make up the Toyota Group. Created at the original site of the company’s start, the museum was converted from what used to be the Toyoda Spinning & Weaving Co., Ltd. headquarters plant. Thus standing for an important part of Toyota’s history from its humble beginnings in the textile industry.

The facility houses exhibitions of each of the group’s key industries from loom machines, to those used in automotive production. Designed to be enjoyed by both young and old, the layout of the floor plan is intuitively created to greet each guest with new interactive environments. Live demonstrations of working presses and mills are accompanied by a full showroom of classic vehicles and parts, ranging from the original Corolla, to more modern technological marvels. Among the more modern installments to the museum include a scheduled performance of the “Toyota Partner Robot” (see YouTube video below), a bipedal robot that performs the trumpet with artificial lips and lungs.

Built on the idea of utilizing industrial ability to strengthen both economy and society, Toyota has pioneered as a global company reinforcing the ideas of “Being Studious, and Creative”, while never forgetting to just let imaginations create and “Make Things.”
